Despite rumors of his retirement, Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight champion has begun training at a world-renowned facility. Tyson is working out under the eye of trainer Buddy McGirt in Vero Beach, Florida.

McGirt reports that Tyson has been a model pupil thus far, doing his roadwork early in the morning and returning later in the day for conditioning and boxing sessions.

His return to training is an interesting development in the continuing saga of Mike Tyson, as just three weeks ago Tyson told the New York Post he may never box again.

Tyson has a professional boxing record of 50-5 with two no-contests and 44 knockouts. He was knocked out in the fourth round in his last bout, which was July 30, 2004.

Tyson had to register as a sex offender with the Indian River County Sheriff's Office in Florida recently. He is required to do this in any state he plans to reside in after his 1992 conviction for the rape of Desiree Washington in Indianapolis.
